The Discovery Team

Our Classroom Teams are made up of:

  • Registered Early Childhood Educators
  • Early Childhood Educator Apprentices
  • Child Care Assistants

All staff at all Discovery Programs

  • Have current criminal reference checks, including vulnerable sector checks as a condition of employment
  • Update CPR and First Aid certification yearly
  • Participate in ongoing professional development (minimum 12 hours/year external, and 12 hours/year internal)

As a toddler teacher, I am not afraid to get messy and explore with the children. Everything is a learning opportunity! I believe that every child has their own unique personality and I work hard to help each child flourish. My classroom is a big family with a lot of love, laughs and learning!

Bachelor of Education-Primary/Junior level

I made my way through school starting with a college degree in Child and Youth Worker, then moved on to a degree in Psychology and then on to my B Ed. I bring an artistic flavour to the kindergarten classroom, encouraging the children to freely explore all materials available to them to express themselves creatively. My classroom is a play based learning environment and is not only educational but also FUN!

Our Wonderful Cook

I have been working professionaly in kitchens since 2000. Prior to coming to Discovery, I ran a gourmet vegetarian kitchen at the Ecology Retreat Centre in Hockley Valley. This allowed me to learn the value of nutrition for the body, mind, heart and soul. I am very enthusiastic about passing these values onto the children here at Discovery!

I graduated in 2009 from Georgian College with my ECE. I hope to bring a lot of happiness, fun and learning into my classroom everyday. I enjoy every moment of my job. Children are our future and each age brings with it new learning opportunities. I look forward to meeting all of your friendly faces.

I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and develop to their fullest potential and promote inclusion and respect in the classroom. I enjoy using the children's ideas as a basis for exploring and learning in all areas of growth and development.

I graduated from Nipissing University with a BA in History. I then went on to receive my ECE diploma with honours in 2001. I started as an ECE placement student with Discovery and then hired as an ECE teacher starting n the school age room. In 2005 I was promoted to centre supervisor. I enjoy my role as supervisor as it gives me the opportunity to build relationships with families, staff and most importantly the children in our care.

I am a registered apprentice in the ECE program needing only one more course to graduate. As an ECE, I try to bring in all of the same core values that I have as a parent. I know that they are sometimes afraid to take that step into something new & I love being the one that can offer a hand of support as they dive into an experience full of learning opportunities. Now is the time in their life to explore and get messy!
